Meet Renee Hall, Director of Housing Programs at Central City Health since November 2024! Renee works with the CCH team and landlords to find housing solutions for Detroit residents who are homeless or looking for an improvement to their living situation. Originally from Pontiac, Renee has worked in the housing industry for 15 years. When not working, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and family. “I have a passion for helping those who are homeless chronically, and assisting vulnerable populations in general. I love being able to assist someone who may have wanted to move into a better environment but didn’t think that they could,” Renee says. “I just had a member who was crying about her situation, was able to go out and see her situation, find her a new apartment and get her moved. The Mobile Dental Unit program at Central City Health expands access to comprehensive dental care for underserved communities. The mobile unit travels every Friday to schools, community centers, and other locations, providing preventive and restorative dental services to patients who face barriers to traditional dental care. The Mobile Dental Unit will be at Daniels Clubhouse Learning Center on March 14, COTS on March 28 and Rose's Little Scholars on April 4th, Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the mobile clinic offers services such as cleanings, exams, and fillings. The program focuses on improving oral health outcomes by ensuring convenient and affordable care, especially for low-income individuals and families. Meet Dequanna Johnson, a Nurse Practitioner at Central City Health since April 2024. Dequanna — a mother of three with a doctoral degree in nursing from Oakland University — supports patients at CCH who are battling high blood pressure, diabetes and other illnesses, and helps diagnose and treat illnesses. Dequanna is will also be part of CCH’s Mobile Unit taking care of residents out in the community. “I was blown away by the mission and vision here at Central City Health, couldn’t wait to join this team. I’m able to connect with my actual patients, and uphold the mission and vision of providing primary care, behavioral care, housing and more,” Dequanna says. “Each patient’s situation is something different. I love that we are able to reach the patients and make a difference in their lives. Often, we’re the only place they can go. Meet Devin Graham, a Housing Specialist who has been working at Central City Health since April of 2024! Devin works with the CCH permanent supportive housing team to help members who have experienced chronic homelessness and are dealing with physical or mental disabilities. “Some of our members are living in their cars or abandoned homes and are in crisis when they come to us,” Devin says. “It is beautiful when you see someone who has been struggling with a certain thing for so long finally reach some sort of stability. Just to see what it does for them, it makes a gigantic difference in a positive way.
