As we previously mentioned earlier this month, American Airlines is enhancing its services at Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA) by upgrading to larger aircraft and increasing the frequency of flights to Chicago (ORD). Once these changes are fully implemented, there will be a 30% rise in the total number of seats available on American Airlines to & from CWA. Additionally, there will be numerous travel options available from Chicago this summer, providing CWA passengers with more choices on American than ever before. For further details, refer to the article by American Airlines at https://buff.ly/3QsjMUp. Book your tickets now at www.fly-cwa.org for the best rates.

CWA had the chance to present to the Learn Build Fly group at the Wausau Downtown Airport, demonstrating the inner workings of a commercial service airport. We were even more amazed by their contributions to the community. If you're keen on discovering their exceptional facilities and programs, you won't be let down. Yesterday, CWA participated in an annual planning exercise led by Steve Smith, the former Campus Dean at Mid-State Technical College. As we look towards 2025, we are eager to gather your insights on what our top goals should be. Expanding air service options is definitely on the list, and we welcome your input on other priorities that will help us achieve a successful future.

Avelo’s Orlando Flight Not Returning to Central Wisconsin in 2024 Avelo Airlines informed airport officials that CWA will not be included in Avelo’s flight schedule for the fourth quarter of 2024. Avelo had planned to resume direct flights from CWA to Orlando in November but said aircraft availability and increasing costs at Orlando International Airport factored into the decision. Avelo announced similar decisions yesterday for five other Orlando “spoke” airports it served: Kalamazoo/Battle Creek (AZO), Greater Binghamton (BGM), Brownsville/South Padre (BRO), Dubuque (DBQ), and Central Region/Lansing (LAN). “This is disappointing news for Central Wisconsin,” shared Airport Director Brian Grefe. “We understand the impact this has on our passengers and local community and will continue to actively explore opportunities with other carriers to ensure we continue to provide robust travel options.”
