After a hiatus due to COVID, the Central Ohio ASCE Younger Members successfully hosted their 8th STEM Expo for K-8 students. Approximately 230 children came through for an exciting Saturday morning to enjoy 25 hands-on, fun activities. Most families in attendance were new to the event and stayed for over 2 hours. Thank you to the Planning Committee for their hard work in getting this wonderful event up and running again. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year! The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is hosting its 8th Annual?Central Ohio?STEM Expo?on Saturday, March 16, 2024, 9 AM-1 PM at Centennial High School 1441 Bethel Rd., Columbus, OH 43220. ? It is a?FREE?educational outreach event for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade that will feature fun, interactive activities and exhibits in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fields. Previous years’ events welcomed over 500 students and featured nearly 40 different activities presented by local professional organizations, universities, and university student groups, consulting firms, non-profits, and STEM related companies. Student participants built race cars out of food items, battled robots, modeled buildings, saw concrete float, saw a real human brain, and interacted in many more enriching and intriguing activities. ? This year is our first year back from COVID, and our planning committee is hoping to continue to revive and grow this event for years to come.
