Today was amazing at the annual Central Indiana Corporate Partnership #SeeYourselfIN High School Summit hosted at 16 Tech Innovation District

It was an amazing day at the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership “See Yourself IN” event at the AMP at 16 Tech Innovation District. There were great speakers and panelists and it was a wonderful opportunity to share Lilly Scholars at Ivy Tech and Lilly Scholars at Purdue with some outstanding high school students. Wow, what an amazing time at the #SeeYourselfIN Summit! From Oliva West challenging us to answer the What, Where, and How questions for our lives to the amazing panelists sharing their wisdom and expertise, to the amazing companies that were represented TechPoint Ascend Indiana AgriNovus Indiana BioCrossroads, Conexus Indiana and more! The BlaTina ladies and I were able to network, participate in amazing demonstrations, such as VR, and converse with leaders such as Dedric Day and Olivia West! Thank you Central Indiana Corporate Partnership and 16 Tech Innovation District for an amazing experience!

A huge thank you to Central Indiana Corporate Partnership and 16 Tech Innovation District for organizing and hosting the See Yourself IN Summit! ??? Looking back to my high school days, I honestly wish I had an event like this to attend. Whenever I was asked, "What do you want to study in college?" or "What do you want to do when you grow up?" it always filled me with anxiety. ?? It's sad because those should have been exciting questions—an adventure in exploring what I enjoy and where I want to go. Instead, it often felt like a daunting pressure. ?? What I loved about this event is that it reframed those questions in such a positive, fun, and empowering way. ?? Students were encouraged to think about what they enjoy doing, where they want to live, and how they can connect with the right people to make their dreams a reality. ?????? I really hope that when these students are asked what they want to do in the future, they'll approach the question with excitement and optimism, rather than stress. The future is something to look forward to, and events like this help break it down in a way that feels less overwhelming. ???? It was also wonderful to see some of the The STARTedUP Foundation Innovation Educator Fellows attending with their students! Events like these are vital for young people at this stage, and we need more of them. Big shoutout to CICP and 16 Tech for making this happen! ???? What's the best way to show Indiana students the possibilities for their future career paths? Hands on experience! There were plenty of activities at today's #SeeYourselfIN Summit to show the more than 250 attendees the career options available right here in the Hoosier state.

The 2024 Central Indiana Corporate Partnership See Yourself IN Summit was a hit! 250 high school students from around the state converged at the 16 Tech Innovation District to learn about careers within Indiana's advanced industries! During our panel on emerging jobs within industry, Dedric Day of Eli Lilly and Company highlighted immediate career and scholarship opportunities available via the Lilly Scholars Program at Ivy Tech Community College and Purdue University (respectively), while Amy Jo Jones & Christine Novak highlighted tech career opportunities in diverse fields - all artfully moderated by Casey Harrison! Also, our Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis Ivy+ Career Link and School of Information Technology teams were in the building providing experiential learning opportunities and providing enrollment information to interested students. Thank you to our Julie Johns-Cole (Vice Chancellor, Ivy+ Career Link - Indianapolis) for mobilizing the team! Kudos to Melina Kennedy, Lori LeRoy and all involved on putting on an amazing event.
