From the President... We had an absolutely fabulous time celebrating our Navy's 249th birthday with a large group of friends on Saturday night. Once again, a big shout out to all of our sponsors as well as the committee of volunteers that put this amazing evening together. I'm proud to report that our "pass the cover" moment during the program netted over $1800 in donations, which will be sent entirely and immediately to Team Rubicon for their ongoing work with disaster recovery. That doesn't include the funds that were sent directly to Team Rubicon during the event via the QR code displayed on the screens. Our community is incredibly generous, and we're proud that we could help our neighbors currently in need. Please consider continuing to find additional ways to support the continuing recovery. A note from the President... all of us at CFNL hope that you and your families fared well through Hurricane Milton, are safe, and are progressing through the recovery/clean up process. We'll have a "more formal" announcement soon, but we wanted to ensure that everyone planning on attending knows that we're still planning on executing this year's Navy Birthday Ball celebration as planned on Saturday evening (10/12). Recognizing that there are many in need of help following Hurricane Milton- and still in need following Hurricane Helene, we encourage all of our members, friends and extended family to help in any way possible, whether that's physically, financially, or in some other manner. To put our actions where our words are, we will add a special segment to Saturday night's program where we will "pass the cover" (our own version of passing the hat) to take up donations for relief efforts. We're mentioning this in advance so that all who desire to participate can be prepared with cash. ALL proceeds collected will be sent to Team Rubicon to facilitate their efforts on the ground. We will also have links displayed to other relief organizations. We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday evening for a time to celebrate our Navy and to relax a bit after another of nature's challenges. Cheers...Octa
