Congratulations to Central Construction President Michael DiFonzo and Controller Bishma Pandey for completing TCS New York City Marathon 2024. Having run many marathons individually, this was their second time participating together. Not only did they make great time, but they also again joined as sponsors of Asian Trail Mix (ATM), a local non-profit organization promoting diversity and inclusion for people of color, especially AAPI individuals. Michael and Bishma are dedicated advocates for health and fitness at Central Construction, too, setting a positive example and encouraging staff to be physically active and connect with others for overall well-being!

As a leading NYC exterior restoration specialist, Central Construction recently completed a multi-phase, multi-year project at 30 Broad Street, one of FiDi’s historic office towers, built in 1932. Our work at the 50-story, 564-foot-high property encompassed extensive corner and parapet rebuilding, structural steel reinstallations and repairs, and select terrace replacements. According to the NYC Department of Buildings, over 2000 parking garages failed to submit their initial observation report per the LL126 guidelines by the August 1st, 2024 deadline: https://lnkd.in/esbKM_qZ The penalty for failing to file is not cheap and fines will continue to accumulate monthly for owners. This also puts the building at risk, "that continued noncompliance may lead to enhanced enforcement actions, including potential criminal charges" per the DOB. I wish building owners luck with their upcoming inspections and I hope everyone is able to meet their required filing deadlines.

The new parapet law passed earlier this year, as part of LL 126, requires annual inspections.
