Centese (#LSIUSA25 Innovator) is redefining post-operative fluid management in surgery and critical care with Thoraguard?, a digital system designed for precision, automation, and advanced data-driven clinical decision-making. By delivering real-time data monitoring and optimized drainage of secretion and unwanted fluids following surgery, Thoraguard is built around three key pillars: Safety, Intelligence, and Efficacy, leading to better outcomes, better user experiences, and reduced in-hospital costs following major procedures in cardiac, thoracic, and trauma surgery. Thoraguard has been transformative in lung cancer surgery. Traditionally, patients undergoing lung tumor resection spent 4–5 days of in-hospital recovery. The field has advanced rapidly with Surgeons taking a two-pronged approach: first was the accelerating adoption of robotic-assisted thoracic surgery and second is the post-operative management with Thoraguard. As a result, leading centers regularly reduce hospital stays to less than one day in the same lung tumor resection procedure. This shift is part of the rapid evolution in thoracic surgery, one of the fastest growing specialties for robotic-assisted surgery. Closed a $15M Series B funding round led by Medical Technology Venture Partners, with participation from new and existing investors (November 2023). ? A recently published study from Stanford University Medical Center demonstrated that using Thoraguard in cardiac surgery can reduce the incidence of Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation (POAF) by 40% compared to current best practices.
