In Phase Two of our #GreaterHoustonResilienceInitiative, we’ve added more than 14,000 stronger, more-storm resilient #fiberglasspoles to our system, built to withstand the extreme weather we experience on the #GulfCoast. We’re more than halfway to our goal of installing 25,000 before the start of hurricane season as a series of actions that are expected to improve reliability and reduce outages by more than 125 million minutes annually. Our volunteers were "biz-y" helping students become citizens of Junior Achievement North's Biztown. In the new CenterPoint Energy Shop, kids participate in hands-on activities like creating a safe and efficient natural gas distribution system, applying for construction and environmental permits and installing meters to provide each business in BizTown the energy it needs to operate.

As spring approaches, did you know that prior to increased demand for the heating season, we buy and then store natural gas use during warmer months when demand is lower. These reserves of natural gas, propane and liquified natural gas can increase the energy available for customers when it's needed most, helping us to continue to provide safe, reliable and resilient energy.
