A New Way to Envision Interventional Navigation
关于我们
We are pioneers in surgical navigation and precision healthcare, empowering physicians with safe, real-time, imaging solutions that improve outcomes, lower costs, and reduce radiation exposure for both patients and caregivers in minimally invasive endovascular procedures. Delivering on our commitment to improve quality of life by changing the way healthcare is delivered, our multidisciplinary team of scientists, clinicians, engineers, and software architects has developed the Intra-Operative Positioning System (IOPS?). This mobile and affordable GPS-like 3D vascular navigation system allows for greater surgical precision and control than ever before, improving device placement accuracy, simplifying complex procedures, and potentially decreasing endoleaks and costly secondary interventions. Millions of vascular procedures are performed each year with minimally invasive, endovascular procedures frequently preferred over open surgical repair. Currently, to navigate within vessels physicians rely on x-ray fluoroscopy. This technology has several critical limitations, including lack of soft tissue visualization and exposure to harmful ionizing radiation. IOPS?, which fits directly into existing workflows and operating rooms, eliminates this excessive radiation exposure by creating manipulable 3D models of the relevant anatomy. These intelligent models are created from existing imaging that is already part of the standard of care. Centerline Biomedical, Inc. was founded in 2014 as a spinoff of the Cleveland Clinic to commercialize our innovative vascular navigation technology. With a research, development, and design history rooted in the Clinic’s world-class Lerner Research Institute’s Heart and Vascular Institute, the IOPS? platform can be further used for predictive modeling, clinical decision support, global healthcare analytics and the education and training of future surgeons and interventionists. We are excited to share further details on our first clinical use of the new 6Fr Viewpoint? Catheter. Dr. Behzad Farivar performed an Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) procedure and chose to use the IOPS? system with the Viewpoint Catheter to visualize the anatomy and quickly navigate through the contralateral gait. After deploying the main body of the endograft, they performed a midcase spin and, using the Spintegration? feature, added the newly placed device to the 3D model. With the device visualized, the contralateral gait cannulation was performed in ~2 minutes with no fluoro or contrast needed or used. The contralateral limb was then placed with an overall abbreviated procedure time and minimized radiation. Centerline Biomedical commends the American Medical Association for recognizing the risks of ionizing radiation exposure for clinicians and for encouraging all healthcare providers to take their exposure seriously. At Centerline, our core mission is to bring innovative products to market, like IOPS?, that not only mitigate radiation exposure but also improve visualization and navigation within the vasculature.
MedPage Today reports that American Medical Association delegates are working hard to raise cancer awareness among clinicians exposed to ionizing radiation. "'As a radiation oncologist, I do not want to see my colleagues in my clinic with preventable cancers from their preventable exposure to radiation out of their selfless dedication to patient care,' said Kristina Novick, MD, speaking for the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She added that regulations vary across the country 'by geography,' and that while radiation oncologists are especially concerned about exposures, 'radiation safety should be taken seriously by every specialty.'" https://lnkd.in/ee_zw8jx

IOPS?: Easy 3D Navigation through Vessel Calcifications Dr. Dan Clair (Vanderbilt University Medical Center) performed a complex EVAR procedure with a fenestrated endograft. Dr. Clair chose to use IOPS for precision access within the vasculature. Powered by the IOPS platform, he was able to visualize the aortic branches and navigate through the endograft fenestrations to rapidly gain access through the heavily calcified target vessels. Both left and right renal arteries were successfully cannulated in quick succession using IOPS. Centerline is proud to provide clinicians with the means to succeed in cases while mitigating radiation exposure. At Centerline, we are proud to celebrate the courage and dedication of our nation’s veterans. Their leadership and commitment to service extend beyond the military, enriching the workplace and driving innovation. Tom Davis , an Army veteran and Centerline team member, shared that "working at Centerline has provided me the opportunity to make a difference, and it's incredibly rewarding to work with healthcare systems and doctors every day to bring IOPS technology into practice. I served in the Army as an Infantryman and deployed to Afghanistan multiple times; Since transitioning out of the military, working at an impactful, meaningful company where I could be a part of a great team has been personally important for me- thankfully I've found that at Centerline!" We are grateful for the service of all veterans and their contributions to our communities and industries! Interesting in joining our team? We are actively #hiring in #Cleveland.
