May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Let's paint social media green and show our support for mental health awareness! This month is all about breaking the stigma, spreading awareness, and encouraging conversations around mental health. It's a reminder that it's okay not to be okay and that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Take a moment to check in with yourself and your loved ones. Practice self-care, reach out for support if you need it, and let's uplift each other through kindness and understanding. Together, we can create a world where mental health is recognized, valued, and supported. Let's start the conversation and spread hope, love, and acceptance. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #BreakTheStigma #YouAreNotAlone

The level of excitement in the air is as abundant as the pollen count in the Sonoma County right now! Thanks to the newly dedicated Dr. Sushma D. Taylor Recovery Center (SDTRC) in Santa Rosa, this sentiment is especially true for the Center Point DAAC team, our partners, and all of those who have worked tirelessly to bring this healing resource to our community. SDTRC is the first treatment center of its kind in the region with medically supported withdrawal management to accept patients with California Medi-Cal Partnership Health Plan. We are filled with hope and gratitude for what lies ahead. We are working hard to accept new patients in the next 4 to 6 weeks. Last weekend, we had the honor of hosting a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony where we were honored by the presence of the facility’s namesake, Dr. Sushma D. Taylor, as well as Senator Mike McGuire, and other critical partners from State agencies and local government. Thank you to everyone who joined us both in person and via our Facebook live. We want to extend special gratitude to several esteemed individuals who took the time to share their stories, insights, and hopes for this community: Marlies Perez, Retired Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey, and Tyler Sadwith, thank you. A special thank you goes to Senator Mike McGuire, as well as Dr. Sushma D. Taylor. Thank you again, Dr. Taylor, for devoting your career to giving individuals a second chance at life, and for graciously lending your name to our new center.
