关于我们
The Center for Survivor Agency and Justice is a national organization dedicated to enhancing advocacy for survivors of intimate partner violence. The Center for Survivor Agency and Justice promotes advocacy that removes systemic barriers, enhance organizational responses, and improve professional practices to meet the self-defined needs of domestic and sexual violence survivors. CSAJ is currently exploring the concrete economic barriers facing survivors of color, which are shown in our 2018 Racial & Economic Equality for Survivors Project (REEP), along with the shared experiences of all marginalized survivors. As a part of REEP, CSAJ conducted seven "From Margins to Center Listening Sessions" in which we facilitated dialogue directly from the field in order to gather insights on racial and economic equity from the field.

??Important Update?? The Center for Survivor Agency and Justice, National Consumer Law Center, and the National Coerced Debt Working Group have submitted comments to the CFPB on their rulemaking to combat coerced debt. This milestone marks over a decade of advocacy to protect survivors of domestic violence from economic abuse. Coerced debt traps survivors in a cycle of financial abuse. Research shows that nearly all survivors experience some form of economic abuse (94-99%), and half report experiencing coerced debt. Our comments urge the CFPB to act and create regulations that address this urgent issue. Last Month, Grameen Foundation brought together voices from domestic violence, global women’s rights, anti-poverty groups, and the financial sector to address how financial services can better respond to financial abuse. Our CEO Erika Sussman spoke, highlighting: "We need financial institutions to address fraud in the context of unequal power." We’re proud to be part of these critical conversations with NGOs, researchers, and consumer protection entities working towards a more inclusive and supportive financial ecosystem. These are important conversations that will ensure survivors receive the supports they need and deserve #EconomicJustice #SurvivorCentered
