VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Feb. 28, 2025) Center for Security Forces Capt. Joseph Bromley presents Lt. Tosha Gonzales with the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. The award honors Gonzales’s meritorious service as the Master-at-Arms program manager from 2022 to 2025. One of her many accomplishments while serving at CENSECOR is the development of an 18.4-week curriculum for accession-level Sailors in a dynamic training environment. This week's "Wellness Wednesday" post focuses on motorcycle safety. The Naval Safety Command began its 2025 Motorcycle Safety campaign, highlighting the theme, “Ride right. Stay in the fight.” In December 2024, the naval enterprise recorded 23 motorcycle crashes, four of which resulted in fatalities. For the 11th month in a row, California led in motorcycle crashes with seven reportable – nearly a third of the incidents (30%), followed by Virginia with six (26%), Japan with three (14%), and Florida with two crashes (9%). The remaining crashes occurred throughout the United States, including one in Bahrain. For FY25, as of Dec. 31, 2024, there were 10 reported Navy and six reported Marine Corps fatalities. Most Navy and Marine Corps motorcycle fatalities reported between FY13-FY24 were caused by excessive speeding and improper maneuvers, so "Ride Right.
