The Center for Reproductive Rights uses the power of law to advance reproductive rights as fundamental human rights.
关于我们
For over 25 years, the Center for Reproductive Rights has used the law to advance reproductive freedom as a fundamental human right that all governments are legally obligated to protect, respect, and fulfill. Since 1992, our attorneys have boldly used legal and human rights tools to create this world. We are the only global legal advocacy organization dedicated to reproductive rights, with expertise in both U.S. constitutional and international human rights law. Our groundbreaking cases before national courts, United Nations committees, and regional human rights bodies have expanded access to reproductive healthcare, including birth control, safe abortion, prenatal and obstetric care, and unbiased information. We influence the law outside the courtroom as well, documenting abuses, working with policymakers to promote progressive measures, and fostering legal scholarship and teaching on reproductive health and human rights. We are legal innovators seeking to fundamentally transform the landscape of reproductive health and rights worldwide, and have already strengthened laws and policies in more than 50 countries. Help us realize every woman's right to reproductive health and autonomy.

Despite decades-long track records of being extremely safe and extremely effective, the commonly used abortion medications mifepristone and misoprostol may now be listed as “controlled, dangerous substances” in Texas. This has left doctors in the state terrified that—if this bill were to pass—they may not be able to stop women from bleeding to death after giving birth and furious that this move could reverse years of progress in saving lives. It would also undoubtedly hit rural areas and women of color hardest. And why? Because anti-abortion extremists are obsessed with controlling our bodies, no matter the cost.

VICTORY: Extremists' attempt to force Montana abortion care clinics to close with useless restrictions has been BLOCKED! Last month, the Center for Reproductive Rights—together with our partners at ACLUMontana and Dechert LLP—asked the court to block the proposed rules on an emergency basis before they were set to take effect TODAY, November 19. The court granted that request last Friday, and the restrictions will remain blocked as the case proceeds. https://bit.ly/40V1u4F

It is ABSURD that any human is being treated this way. No one should be turned away from a fully equipped hospital, loaded onto a plane, and forced to wait EIGHT HOURS or longer to be treated for a common, treatable pregnancy complication. No politician should have the power to force doctors' hands this way, and no patient should have to endure these terrifying consequences.
Idaho doctor describes danger of transferring women needing abortion care to other states

IT IS DANGEROUS TO BE PREGNANT IN IDAHO. The state’s cruel abortion bans prevented our client Jen Adkins from getting the abortion she wanted and needed and forced her to flee to another state for basic medical care. Now, she’s suing Idaho alongside six other plaintiffs, to clarify and expand the so-called "medical exceptions" to state's cruel and extreme abortion bans. This week, our lead plaintiff in Adkins v. Idaho, Jen shared her harrowing story in court to further prove what we have always known to be true: Abortion ban exceptions are a FARCE. Abortion ban exceptions DO NOT WORK. Abortion ban exceptions are NOT a solution to extremist policies, and they do NOT keep people safe.
