Enjoy this new, compelling read, “American Higher 2025: Toward a More Perfect Silence or a More Perfect Union?” featured in the Association of Governing Boards’ (AGB) publication Trusteeship and written by MSI Aspiring Leader Presidential Mentor John S. Wilson!? Here, Wilson discusses the challenges and transformations facing American higher ed, highlighting how political polarization and external pressures have led many universities to adopt policies of institutional neutrality, especially in response to controversial social and political issues. He explores the impact of these developments on-campus leadership and academic freedom, particularly concerning the struggles faced by Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). “Our founding documents collectively commission us all to complete the process of becoming a pluralistic democracy, the sole contextual requirement for perfecting the union of humankind. I signed because our progress remains slow, our work remains vast, and our college campuses remain both obligated and able to do much more to help realize the loftiest of America’s proclaimed aspirations.” Read more: https://buff.ly/nzy1XcY John Silvanus Wilson AGB (Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges)
