关于我们
The Center for Inquiry strives to foster a secular society based on reason, science, freedom of inquiry, and humanist values. The Center for Inquiry (CFI) is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to defending science and critical thinking in examining religion. CFI’s vision is a world in which evidence, science, and compassion—rather than superstition, pseudoscience, or prejudice—guide public policy. To make a better world, we need to use our heads and our hearts. To confront the challenges that face us as a planetary civilization, we need to use the tools of science and reason guided by compassion and respect for the dignity of every individual. To move forward, we need to discard old superstitions, prejudices, and magical thinking and embrace facts, evidence, and critical thinking. It’s about more than whether or not God exists. It’s about more than whether ghosts roam among us, aliens hover above us, or psychics can see within us. The Center for Inquiry (CFI) strives to foster a society free of the dogmatic influence of religion and pseudoscience; a society inspired by the ideals of the Enlightenment, the wonders of science, and the limitless potential of human intelligence and creativity; a society in which beliefs are not granted the same rights as people, where the freedom of expression is enjoyed by all, and all ideas are open to the scrutiny of reason. Secular government. Free inquiry. Critical thinking. Humanist values. This is the Center for Inquiry.

As CFI president and CEO Robyn Blumner declared, Kennedy “may very well be the worst possible choice the incoming president could make for the vital job of protecting public health.” For starters, he is a lawyer with no training in medicine or public health. Agencies like Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have a tremendous combined responsibility to ensure the health and welfare of the American people. Kennedy is manifestly unfit to lead them given that he sows distrust in science, spreads conspiracy theories, and expresses disdain for the “medical establishment.” Urge your senator to oppose Kennedy’s nomination for Secretary of HHS: https://ow.ly/kiGr50Ucgcp #RFKJr #SecretaryOfHHS #HealthAndHumanServices #PublicHealth

After decades of shaping the voice of reason and humanism, this issue of Free Inquiry marks the end of an era for its interim editor ???? With a career spanning from 1983 to 2017 and two stints as interim editor—most recently after the sudden passing of the inimitable Tom Flynn—Andrea Szalanski reflects on a lifelong passion for fostering a society rooted in secular values, reason, and science: https://ow.ly/YYSp50Ubh2b #FreeInquiry #SecularHumanism #SecularValues #Humanism #ReasonAndScience

Last week in San Antonio, Kenny Coogan brought the wonders of evolution education to life at the Science Teachers Association of Texas conference! From skull comparison labs on a budget to showcasing the transformative work of TIES, Generation Skeptics, and ScienceSaves, it was a celebration of curiosity, critical thinking, and science education. Teachers left with hands-on tools, fresh ideas, and resources to spark excitement about evolution and science in their classrooms. Because when educators are empowered, students thrive ???? A brand of fake news you didn't know you needed to worry about. Semi-fake news isn’t outright lies—it’s distorted facts shared by those who believe them to be true. It’s harder to spot, more common than you think, and rooted in logical fallacies like cherry-picking and vague headlines. Want to know how it spreads and what you can do?
