In our recent Speaker Series, we had the privilege of hosting Chanee D. Fabius, PhD, who shared her research on the impact of paid care for diverse older adults and their family caregivers. Her insights illuminated the challenges and opportunities within our care systems, showcasing how we can drive future innovations to ensure equitable support for all aging populations. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Fabius for her invaluable contributions and for sparking such important conversations in our community. This weekend, the CHAI team and UMN Aging Studies Interdisciplinary Group (ASIG) students participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s with the Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We had a fantastic time walking together and connecting with a passionate community committed to raising funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s research and care. We’re proud to have contributed to this important mission. A big thank you to everyone who supported!

This month, CHAI proudly features Dr. Siobhan McMahon, PhD, MPH, GNP-BC, as our Spotlight Member! As an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, Dr. McMahon’s research focuses on reducing falls in older adults through behavior change strategies within community-based physical activity programs. Her work, supported by the National Institute of Nursing Research, is making a lasting impact on healthy aging. We are also excited to welcome Dr. McMahon to CHAI as the new Associate Director of the Clinical Science & Practice Core.
