  • Practice your vowels and build muscle memory! Elizabeth Marner-Brooks, CELS faculty who teaches listening/speaking and leads the Pronunciation Group at The New School, created this resource for the Voice of America (VoA) Learning English website. English has 16 different vowel sounds so building memory for the correct tongue position is especially important, she notes. #Englishlanguage #faculty #highlight https://lnkd.in/eN7sw2X7

  • These are some snapshots of Jessica's ESL+ Listening/Speaking final project. Students did a semester-long book analysis project to work on critical thinking skills, presentation skills, annotation, and of course, all the other skills involved in listening and speaking such as body language, pronunciation, and projection. Each student chose their own book which ranged from graphic novels to YA mysteries. As a final presentation, they presented on character and story arcs, surface and deeper meanings, and their own review of the text. #WilderGirl #PercyJackson #HotelManifique #MilesMorales #MrCigar
