Emerging Media Design & Development: 10 Years of Innovation
At the Center for Emerging Media Design & Development, we believe in the power of human-centered design and storytelling to solve big problems. We bring together storytellers, computer scientists, artists, writers, designers, and programmers to tackle real-world problems using the newest technology and digital media. This year, we will be celebrating EMDD’s 10th Anniversary, and we invite you to engage with our students and faculty to discover what they are working on and to help shape our future.
Recent project teams have worked with partners to tell stories and solve problems in various sectors. Whether looking to engage younger audiences for the Academy for Model Aeronautics, developing wayfinding technology with GoodMaps, recreating history with DWNTWN Muncie, or engaging users through the David Letterman Learning Experience, EMDD has been busy creating the future of storytelling and interactive digital narratives.
Throughout this semester, EMDD is proud to be hosting several outstanding alumni speakers to help guide, motivate, and inspire our current students. A big thanks to our speakers: Ryan Wiaranowski, Adeboye O., Kinsey Reese Dentel, M.A., Austin Hostetter, Brandi Geister, Kelsie Arnold, Catey Traylor, and Jaylyn G.
The EMDD Cultural Feast, Pitch Night, and our project Symposium will continue strengthening the connection among our cohorts and expand their academic horizons. Guided by the principles of design thinking, transmedia storytelling, and human-computer interaction, we hope to use the opportunities that emerge over the next 10 years as pathways toward innovation.
Welcome to the 10th year of the Center for Emerging Media Design and Development!
