Where people get better at life.
关于我们
The Center for Disability Services offers hope, innovation and achievement to the people we support. For over 80 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere. The Center for Disability Services provides comprehensive Health Care, residential services, education, adult programming, service coordination and skilled nursing care to individuals with disabilities. In addition, we have a commercial printing, inserting, and mailing operation that is supported by a workforce of over 200 individuals with disabilities. Our annual budget is approximately $129 million dollars and we employ over 2,700 workers in over 80 locations. The Center also has a Foundation that supports many of the necessary services that are not funded by other sources.

Please join us in congratulating; Gregory Sorrentino President & CEO at the Center, and Stephanie Ostrowski, Volunteer at St. Margaret’s Center, who were each presented with awards last night at the Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State conference, recognizing their commitment to bettering the lives of individuals with disabilities. ? Stephanie Ostrowski received the Anthony J. Koenig Volunteer Award in recognition of her heartfelt volunteerism at St. Margaret’s Center. Stephanie became part of the St. Margaret’s family through her daughter who lived with us for 16 years and has remained involved through our volunteer program. Stephanie does anything she can to better the lives of everyone involved with St. Margaret’s Center; whether that means being a support to the people who live and work there, engaging with families, or as a mentor to our other volunteers. She is consistent in providing words of encouragement and provides insight when it comes to advocating for and understanding people’s needs or interests. ? Greg Sorrentino received the Susan Constantino Leadership Award in recognition of his efforts to address healthcare inequities for people with disabilities. Greg works relentlessly to educate governmental funding agencies and our leaders and legislators on the critical role our clinics provide in delivering accessible services, and the inadequacy in funding to perform services. Through these efforts, Greg continues to successfully increase awareness and education of the importance of respecting and valuing services for all people with disabilities, their families, and those who support them. ? We appreciate and respect Stephanie and Greg’s passion for what they do and for their efforts to make a difference in so many lives. On behalf of all people with disabilities, their families and staff, thank you for all you do!

Those who know me know that I stand out; I literally hit my head on doorways! ???? BUT..... I'm dwarfed by my incredible daughter and all her amazing talents and abilities. Yes, she has #downsyndrome but it's given her an extra chromosome and she wields it like a superhero!! Her success in life can be attributed to many things (girl works her tail off ????) but programs like the Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center through Center for Disability Services have been crucial for us and so many others in the Capital Region. Please consider donating to the 28th Annual Capital Region Buddy Walk to keep these resources going. To support our team, you can donate under my name or our team name, Everly's Entourage. Link is ????
