There is no one size fits all approach to anything. So it's probably no surprise to anyone that the models in which scientific ideas emerge from academia and make their path through discovery and development to ultimately become commercially available therapeutic and clinical interventions are manifold. At UPMC Enterprises we have developed our own flavor, working very closely with our academic partners University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Carnegie Mellon University to turn incredible ideas into Life Changing Medicine. This week we sat down to review the progress of our portfolio, and it was a great reminder how the hard work of our investment and operations teams and the tenacity of the scientists and executives we work with adds up to move the needle in medicine. Our portfolio company BlueSphere Bio is taking the final steps to dose their first patients with a transformational TCR-T treatment for #AML, at Avista Therapeutics our partnership with Roche is going from strength to strength, and we are simultaneously working with a broad range of new investigators and entrepreneurs to advance new ideas from the lab into the clinic. If you want to learn more about how we do it and what makes UPMC Enterprises unique as a partner and investor in #LifeSciences check out this podcast. Together with my friend and colleague Hank Safferstein, the CEO of our portfolio company Generian, I will share more about how we work to make a difference in the life of #patients.
