Join Arizona State University’s Center for Science and the Imagination and the Center for Climate Literacy University of Minnesota for a discussion of the 2024 book The Climate Action Almanac and conversations about teaching climate science and environmental literacy in K-12 settings. Topics will include climate emotions, guerrilla gardening, learning with nature to reclaim spaces for community and joy, and pedagogical practices for engaging diverse and non-Western learners. Activities and practical applications for the classroom will be shared. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required for attendance. The Center is honored to be one of 240 projects in the U.S. to be selected by the National Endowment for the Humanities to receive grant funding. This is an unbelievable opportunity for us to share our vision for universal climate education, the power of storytelling, and learn from working educators. In the coming months, we will unveil our plan to bring 25 educators from across the U.S. to Minneapolis for a Summer institute on climate literacy education! #NEHgrant
