The Center for Clean Hydrogen (CCH) team just had a fascinating and fun time at the Green Hydrogen Summit East Coast. Drs. Ajay Prasad and Karen Meidlinger represented CCH and Dr. Miguel Garcia Diaz attended and represented the University of Delaware. We enjoyed seeing many of our collaborators/friends/neighbors from Delaware and beyond including Noah Olson from Delaware Prosperity Partnership, Katie Hosey (pictured below moderating the green ammonia panel) from Delaware Workforce Development Board, Dora Cheatham and Dr. Andrew Cottone from First State Hydrogen, Inc., Bamdad Bahar, Andrew Goddard and Cameron Smith from Fortescue as well as Dr. Simon Cleghorn, Laura J. Geiman and Dr. Linh Tran, Ph.D. from W. L. Gore & Associates. Also pictured on the green ammonia panel are Dr. Jakob Krummenacher (left) and Dr. Natalie G. (right). Thank you so much to the three amazing conference organizers from Solar Media that were on the ground in Philadelphia; Sabina Barbu, La'Marisa Barclay, and Paul Collinson. The Center for Clean Hydrogen (CCH) team at University of Delaware would like to thank Xingbo Liu at West Virginia University for inviting us to the Long-Duration Energy Storage Workshop. We've spent the last two days immersed in talks and breakout sessions all about Underground Hydrogen Storage (UHS). It was fascinating to learn from academic experts such as Shimin Liu at Penn State University, as well as from industry pros such as Jittisa K. at Bloom Energy and Thomas I. Valdez at Plug Power. We enjoyed hearing from many other companies and stakeholders along the UHS value chain, including from end-users. Thank you to Hope Gas for hosting us in your nice seminar room and beautiful board room. Pictured below is Yushan Yan giving a talk about CCH. Are you planning to attend the Green Hydrogen Summit East Coast next week? If yes, Karen Meidlinger and Yushan Yan will be attending and representing the Center for Clean Hydrogen. They'd enjoy connecting with you. If no, but you're interested in learning more about it, see details below, and/or reach out to the team at Informa (La'Marisa Barclay, Ben Pinnock and Michaela Paul-Smith) that is busy organizing this event. #acceleratingthetransitiontocleanenergy,?#carboncapture,?#centerforcleanhydrogen,?#cleanhydrogen,?#commercialization,?#decarbonization,?#energytransition,?#fuelcells,?#greenhydrogen,?#h2,?#hydrogen,?#hydrogeneconomy,?#hydrogentechnologies,?#hydrogenworkforce,?#innovation,?#renewableenergy,?#newtechnology,?#testinghydrogentechnologies,?#universityofdelaware?#workforcedevelopment

Happy Election Day everyone! If you'd like to not think about the election for a minute, our big news here at the Center for Clean Hydrogen (CCH) is that our wonderful part-time test engineer, Neel Kher, just started full-time at the University of Delaware. We're delighted that he is bringing his skills and talents to CCH all throughout the workday and workweek. Welcome Neel Kher. We're so glad you decided to pick our team to join. A group of us went out to get ice cream at UDairy Creamery to celebrate. Thanks to Anil Bika for treating us. Pictured below (from left to right) are Jack Bevan, Neel Kher, Jackson Mourtada and Evan Cleghorn. The Center for Clean Hydrogen (CCH) team was pleased to host Fortescue leaders from the Fortescue Hydrogen Systems business yesterday. We gave a lab tour and then sat down and met with the Fortescue team, learned more about their hydrogen business and plans to get Fortescue to Real Zero which is beyond Net Zero. It's super impressive what the company has already done (i.e. built large solar and wind farms that are providing green electricity to produce hydrogen to power the company's operations) and is planning on doing. Pictured from left to right from Fortescue are Andrew Goddard, Bamdad Bahar and Raj G Rajendran. On the far right is CCH team member and test engineer Evan Cleghorn. The Center for Clean Hydrogen team was pleased to attend the University of Delaware's 'Recognizing UD Inventors' event yesterday afternoon. We enjoyed celebrating innovation at University of Delaware and meeting many of the inventors. It was wonderful to see some of the inventions we have heard about in real life. For example, Dr. Willett Kempton showed us the Vehicle-to-Grid hardware and software that he and his team have developed at UD and that is now being commercialized by Nuvve Holding Corp. We enjoyed seeing and engaging with many of our UD collaborators, friends and movers & shakers including Saleem H. Ali, Eleni Assanis, Dan Beniker, Mike Bowman, Tracey Bryant, Lou DiNetta, Julius Korley, PhD, MBA, Nicole Merli, MBA, CRA, Tracy Shickel, Albert Shields, Amy L. Slocum, and Donna Snyder White. We enjoyed hearing speeches from President Dennis Assanis (pictured left), Vice President Miguel Garcia Diaz (pictured right), Senator Christopher Coons and Elizabeth Dougherty from the US Patent & Trademark Office. The Center for Clean Hydrogen team loves a good party. Thank you team Air Liquide for inviting us to join your celebration for National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day. We enjoyed the talks and the cupcakes were delicious! It was so cool to see two hydrogen-powered fuel cell cars parked next to each other (pictured are Emanuel Wagner's Hyundai NEXO left and Air Liquide's Toyota Mirai on the right). Also, in the car photo are (from left to right) Emanuel Wagner, Dave Edwards and Alex Augustine. We appreciate you giving our friend Emanuel from the US Hydrogen Alliance a fill. Thank you Bikram Roy Chowdhury, Ph.D., Bo Lu and Katrina Visceglia for overseeing the filling process.
