This document provides the reader with lessons learned and best practices developed at the combat training centers during fiscal year 2024. A key feature of the Russia-Ukraine conflict is the constant threat from the air. Within Ukraine, the Russians regularly fill the skies with UASs, from which it is difficult to hide. Moreover, the equipment and skills of enemy UAS operators are constantly evolving and improving; therefore, to survive, Ukrainian soldiers must develop constant vigilance and caution. Leaders should scrutinize their staff integrating cells to ensure required functional staff representation is present. Specifically, leaders need to look at their Current Operations (CUOPS), Future Operations (FUOPS), and Plans (PLANS) integrating cells. The Mission Command Training Program found a common trend: divisions lack representation from all warfighting functions within their FUOPS cells. The 1st Armored Division (1AD) exemplified this trend during Warfighter Exercise (WFX) 25-01, executing the exercise with a garrison FUOPS and PLANS cell structure that lacked full integration. This article examines why divisions fall into the trap of neglecting FUOPS and PLANS integration, and how they can overcome this challenge. Available now is Battle in the Desert: Fighting and Winning at the Tactical Level. The articles inside this release focus on the tactical level of war across the warfighting functions. The presented concepts should prove useful to other practitioners, but they are not a panacea. Both the Russo-Ukraine War and the War in Gaza have reaffirmed that the next war will likely be won through a?series of campaigns, not through one or more tactical battles. This article speaks on how Army Military Intelligence is Getting it Right: Continuous Transformation and the Army Intelligence Data Platform. In 2018, a frustrated 82nd Airborne Division G2 published a paper with concerns about the Military Intelligence branch's diminishing relevancy, citing the failure to consistently deliver a Common Intelligence Picture (CIP) to commanders. In the intervening years, the US Army military intelligence community has made significant progress in addressing these concerns. In 2020, the U.S. Army announced plans to replace the problematic Distributed Common Ground System - Army (DCGS-A) with the new cloud-based Army Intelligence Data Platform (AIDP) by 2025. The increasing complexity of modern military operations necessitates the development and implementation of innovative solutions to enhance operational effectiveness. CamoGPT and NIPRGPT are two such tools that have the potential to transform the way the Army approaches planning and operations. This article provides an examination of the benefits and limitations of these tools, as well as guidance on how to effectively integrate them into military planning and operations. This quarterly release illustrates best practices and experiences from the perspectives of leaders and Soldiers of 1AE Army National Guard and Reserve component partner units.
