As we honor Native American Heritage Month—a time to celebrate the rich history, culture, and resilience of Indigenous communities—the Coalition seeks to shine a light on the critical issue of intimate partner violence (IPV), which disproportionately impacts Native and Indigenous individuals. This November, we encourage healthcare providers and allied professionals to explore the resources available to support IPV survivors within Indigenous communities. Take a look at some of the resources below: - Futures Without Violence offers materials directly for health care providers on responding to violence in American Indian/Alaska Native Health Settings, including guidance, safety cards, fact sheets, and more. https://lnkd.in/eF2UJgsm - StrongHearts Native Helpline is a free, confidential and anonymous domestic, dating and sexual violence helpline for Native Americans and Alaska Natives. Victims and survivors can connect with an advocate 24/7 by texting or calling 1-844-7NATIVE (1-844-762-8483). https://lnkd.in/eSVrdzd - The Domestic Violence Prevention (DVP) Program is a program for tribes, tribal organizations, Urban Indian organizations (UIO), and federal facilities, providing violence prevention and treatment services. https://www.ihs.gov/dvpi/ - The Red Women Rising Project is dedicated to uplifting the voices of Urban Indian survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through increasing awareness around Urban Indian women’s domestic violence issues and enhancing survivors' access to domestic violence services. https://www.niwrc.org/ #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth #intimatepartnerviolence #healthcareprofessionals
