When people learn about ACEs from me for the first time, a light bulb clicks and the information sticks. Ever wonder why we gravitate towards certain people? It might be more than just chance—it's often about the unseen wounds we carry. Our psychological wounds are the chemical bonds that attract the people we develop relationships with. This phenomenon aligns with psychological theories that suggest we often seek connections that echo the familiarity of past (spirits) relationships, including those formed with caregivers during childhood. Whether healthy or dysfunctional, these patterns feel "normal" and comfortable, increasing the likelihood of being drawn to others who share similar emotional dynamics and wounds. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) act like magnets, drawing us to those who mirror our psychological wounds. As we heal and grow, we might find ourselves incompatiable with those who remain anchored in past traumas, seeking instead relationships that nurture our evolving selves. Remember, healing isn’t just about self-improvement—it’s also about transforming our relationships. It guides us toward those who support our growth and helps us let go of what no longer serves us. At our latest RIB TRIBE event, we delve into why we're called the 'RIB TRIBE' — just like the rib protects the vital organs, the 'TE' in TRIBE, representing 'Tellus' (Latin for Earth), encompasses our core, highlighting our commitment to safeguarding our community. We are the ribs within the Earth, united in our mission to prevent domestic violence from escalating. We are accepting donations to take the TRIBE conversation Worldwide. Discovering our past, painting a new future! ???? Participants and volunteers gathered in a unique workshop pilot to educate communities on the connection of ACEs and Domestic Violence. In the room included daughters with their mothers, husbands with wives, college students, and single parents in one space discussing the origins of Domestic Violence and what could be done. Through interactive activities like mapping childhood experiences onto vinyl records, we explored how ancestral traumas can impact our DNA and future generations. By rewiring our narratives and breaking the cycle of unhelpful trauma responses, we are paving the way for brighter days ahead.
