Transforming carbon emissions into underground rock for safe, natural, and permanent carbon removal.
关于我们
We accelerate a natural process that transforms carbon dioxide into rock, harnessing the planet’s own powers to combat climate change. Using captured CO2, we inject it underground where mineralization removes it permanently. By creating the world’s most efficient injection process, we lower costs and environmental impacts, enabling us to scale to climate-relevant impact within a decade. Our innovative technology can be used in a variety of geological contexts, creating global opportunities for durable carbon removal.

There are few things as energizing as seeing people’s enthusiasm when they experience the work we’re doing firsthand. ??? As we drill into the basalt formations of Kenya’s Rift Valley, it’s always a pleasure to welcome partners and stakeholders to visit our site. Last week, several industry leaders joined us to see the progress we’re making in carbon mineralization— developing one of the world's first projects dedicated to permanent and safe CO? storage through mineralization in Kenya. ?? ?? This visit was organized as part of the Pre-COP29 Off-site Session with Kenya’s Early Movers on Climate-Positive Economic Growth, where stakeholders discussed new pathways to secure financing for impactful clean energy projects.???? We extend our gratitude to the Office of the Special Envoy for Climate Change Kenya, Enzi Ijayo Africa Initiative, the Global Renewables Alliance (GRA), Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), and The Africa Green Hydrogen Alliance (AGHA) for supporting this visit and impactful session, providing fresh momentum for Kenya’s low-carbon transition. ???? Curious about Cella and our technology? We’d love to connect!?? #COP29 #Sustainability #CarbonDioxideRemoval #CarbonManagement

We are thrilled to announce that our Co-Founder and CTO, Dr. Claire Nelson, has been honored by MIT Technology Review as one of the 35 Innovators Under 35 for 2024. This prestigious recognition highlights Claire’s remarkable contributions to climate innovation. Cella's core technology was developed during Claire's postdoctoral research appointment at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University. In only two short years, we have taken the technology from concept to pre-commercial field demonstration. Thank you to those who have supported us on this journey! https://lnkd.in/e6Dq5Fk2

?Warning: Today's post contains a lot of C’s Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Corey Pattison to our lab in Munich. Corey is Co-Founder and CEO of Cella, a carbon mineralization company providing secure, permanent and scalable Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR). ?? Taking our captured CO2, they inject it underground where mineralization turns it into stone. Their innovative technology uses less water than other mineralization approaches. We’re eager to see their pilot deployment in Kenya! We’ve added a link in the comments where you can learn why they chose this location.
