Yesterday, more than 30 advocates gathered at the Ohio Statehouse for March for Change, meeting with legislators to push for urgent action on the maternal and infant health crisis in Ohio. With the state ranking 43rd in infant mortality, we made it clear that change cannot wait. We championed the benefits that would result from critical investments in House Bill 96, including a refundable child tax credit of up to $1,000, increased funding for Help Me Grow, Infant Vitality supports, and WIC modernization. These measures will directly impact families and help save lives. Our advocates also voiced strong support for Senate Bill 84, which would establish September 19 as Stillbirth Prevention Day. Ohio loses 760 babies to stillbirth each year—more than the national average. This bill will raise awareness, expand resources for expecting mothers, and help prevent stillbirths. We are proud to stand up for Ohio’s mothers and babies. Together, we are driving local policy in communities across the country to ensure a future where every mom and baby has a healthy start.

Yesterday, CelebrateOne joined March of Dimes at the Ohio Statehouse for Ohio March for Change, an advocacy day dedicated to advancing maternal and infant health policies. CelebrateOne and March of Dimes representatives met with Senator Paula Hicks-Hudson, Senator Mark Romanchuk, and the office of Senator Stephen Huffman to discuss two key priorities: 1. House Bill 4: This bill would establish September 19th as Stillbirth Prevention Day to raise awareness and help prevent stillbirths in Ohio. 2. Proposed budget increases to expand support for programs focused on infant mortality prevention, maternal health services, and home visiting programs through Help Me Grow.
