CEE Sustainable Finance Summit

Last week, we had the privilege of hosting a workshop on Financing the Climate Plan of the City of #Liberec, bringing innovative minds from municipalities and financial institutions together with sustainability experts. The event focused on a critical question: How can cities fund their ambitious sustainability projects despite financial constraints? The discussions were both practical and inspiring! We were delighted to have Svea Heinemann from ICLEI kick off the workshop with insights into global trends in urban climate financing, followed by a presentation from Dr. Pavlína Tvrdíková, who shared Liberec's ambitious Investment Plan for Climate Neutrality 2030—a compelling showcase of local climate action in progress. Jan Trojak from CSOB shared valuable insights on #PPP, Vladimír Zadina from ?EZ ESCO explored the benefits of #EPC, and ?estmír Hrdinka from the Národní rozvojová banka provided detailed information about support available under the ELENA program. These sessions were expertly moderated by Tomas Janeba from Asociace pro rozvoj infrastruktury. In the second block, we dived deeper into renewable energy development through #PPAs, with an excellent presentation by Ondrej Zidek and two practical examples of city financing from Dana Pucelikova from Raiffeisenbank ?eská republika and Miroslav Trna from Komer?ní banka. The event was concluded by Lenka Opo?enská, Deputy Mayor for Environment and Strategy of Jablonec nad Nisou, who delivered a brilliant presentation on the challenges and opportunities of making cities more sustainable and liveable! ??
