We are excited about our next management trainee feature from Andrew in Portland, ME! "I learned about CED shortly after graduating from the University of Southern Maine when a friend in the management program referred me. He said CED gives their managment trainees many opportunities to travel across the country and for growth within the company. In the six months I've been in the program, I've traveled to multiple states to learn more about the vendors we work with. What I enjoy most about working with CED is the rotation structure of the training program. It allows the trainee to learn about every aspect of the different roles in a profit center. You learn everything that makes a profit center run smoothly, from working in the warehouse to picking orders, sales, and accounting. Another aspect that has made the management program fulfilling is the people I've met working at CED. I've grown close with the team in Portland, and they made me feel comfortable from my very first day. Everyone is willing to answer any questions and help you learn everything about the electrical industry. When I started with CED, I had no electrical experience, but I have learned so much with my co-workers' support. If you are looking for a career with a great support system and opportunity for personal growth, our management program is the place to go!"

We are so proud of our Vermont team and Ravi Parikh for receiving the Partner of the Year Award! We are honored by his hard work and partnership with Efficiency Vermont.
Last week, Efficiency Vermont hosted its 13th annual Best Practices Exchange Conference. At this conference, commercial and industrial operators across the state gather and share expertise on energy-saving projects. We also award individuals and organizations Energy Leadership Awards. Read about our winners below. Innovation Award: Jay Peak Resort Jay Peak recently purchased an electric boiler to heat its hotel and indoor water park. This reduces its propane gas use by 331,637 gallons a year, cuts CO2 emissions by 2,380 tons annually, and saves $183,250 per year. Commitment Award: Magris Talc Magris Talc implemented a Strategic Energy Management program at its Ludlow Facility to reduce operating costs and energy use. The company identified 75 energy-saving measures that cut their electrical consumption by 5% - saving about $96,000 annually. Impact Award: AGAINST THE GRAIN GOURMET This gluten-free bakery invested in control systems to gain more insight into its energy-heavy refrigeration, which is essential to gluten-free baking. By creating a carefully tested defrosting schedule, they expect to use 20% less energy during key peak grid events, saving about $75,000 a year. Changemaker Award: Ray’s Market Ray’s Market in Irasburg upgraded its walk-in cooler and freezers to a more environmentally friendly refrigerant. This helps keep prices low for customers and saves Ray’s more than $21,000 a year. Energy Champion Award: Dean Ouellette from Middlebury College Dean Ouellette, the Energy and Technology Manager at Middlebury College, moved the college’s HVAC controls to an automatic model, which helps save energy by turning on (and off) when buildings aren’t actively in use. Additionally, Ouellette implemented other measures, such as switching to LED lights, which helped save the college $279,000 a year. Partner of the Year: Ravi Parikh of CED Twin State Electrical Supply Ravi Parikh provides custom lighting solutions for customers and has worked with EVT to create lighting programs and rebates. Ravi’s experience has helped save customers around 89,000 MWh over the last decade.
