Had a busy day yesterday so late to post but another successful event this month. Thanks as always to Big Grove Brewery in Cedar Rapids for hosting us and thanks to Kidron J Knox and the Acterra Group, LLC for sponsoring this month. Some great conversations were had between employers and Veterans and saw a lot of new faces at this one. Keep spreading the word and let’s fill up Big Grove brewery with even more Veterans. Linn County HR was unable to attend Tuesday's event but asked me to inform the group of an opening for a Light Equipment Operator within Linn County Secondary Roads Department. HOURLY WAGE: New Hire: $24.43 ? 90 days: $25.34 ? 1 year: $26.27 ? 2 years: $27.31 ? 3 years: $29.35 SUMMARY: Operates a variety of construction and maintenance equipment and performs a variety of manual tasks. MAIN ESSENTIAL DUTIES: ? Operates a dump truck to transport materials and supplies ? Operates equipment such as skid loaders, rollers, tractors, mowers, and end loaders ? Performs a variety of physical tasks associated with road construction, maintenance, and repair ? Services and performs minor repairs to equipment ? Operates equipment associated with snow removal operations MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ? At least one (1) year of equipment operation experience in the construction and/or maintenance of roads, driveways, or parking lots using current day practices required. Experience must include operation of dump trucks with a gross vehicle weight rating of 35,000 pounds or greater. ?
