We are thrilled to announce the start of an exciting new chapter and would be honored to have you with us for the Groundbreaking Celebration. In special session on Friday, December 20, the Cedar Falls Community School District Board of Education approved Phase 1 of the facility. The $5.6M bid by Peters Construction of Waterloo was accepted. The phase 1 bid will include the main shell/structure (extension of existing walls, roof, insulation, and minor services for access) including alternate 1 with glass curtain wall framing and structural steel. Congratulations to #tigerpride senior Nadia Patel on earning the prestigious U.S. Congressional Gold Youth Medal! This is the highest honor bestowed by the United States Congress on young Americans and was presented to Nadia in a special ceremony held on Capitol Hill, Washington D.C. This year’s Gold Medal Summit highlighted the achievements of 724 youth awardees from 47 states and territories, representing 232 Congressional districts. Since founding her nonprofit organization, the Monarch Club, Nadia has worked with the City of Cedar Falls Parks team over the past two years to implement pollinator gardens throughout the community. You can spot these bright green signs throughout the area indicating their incredible work! In addition to the Congressional Gold Medal, Nadia was also honored with the Governor’s Volunteer Award for her outstanding volunteer service. Her contributions were specifically commended during the Governor’s speech at the event, highlighting the significant impact of her initiatives.
