Exceptional Children is seeking manuscripts focused broadly on the lived experiences in transition for students with disabilities, their families, and the educators who support them. The guest editors will prioritize original research that uses quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods – although concept papers will also be considered.?Full manuscripts are due on May 1 via the Exceptional Children submission portal. Interested authors should indicate the title of the special issue in their cover letter and check the box for “special issue” on the submission portal in order to be considered.

Dear?DISES?Members, Would you like to be more engaged in DISES? Have you considered serving in a leadership position as a member of the?DISES?Board of Directors? If not you, do you know of someone you would like to nominate? Nominees must have been a?DISES?member for 2 or more years, be committed to the mission and vision of?DISES, and be available to attend?DISES?board meetings and events. Nominations for several positions are being accepted through October 15, 2024.?Self-nominations are welcomed. The following positions are open on the Board of Directors to begin?January 1,2025: President-Elect, Secretary, Membership Officer (2-year term) Student Representative (2-year term), Member at Large (MAL) International Outreach (2-year term), Member at Large (MAL) Event support (2-year term) Please carefully read the responsibilities and?qualifications?for each of the positions you are interested in. Descriptions?can be accessed?here. There is one position open in the presidential leadership chain. The President-Elect position is a four-year leadership commitment - first as President-Elect, then Vice-President, President, and finally as Past-President. Once elected, your board orientation meeting will be scheduled in January 2025 and the first in-person board meeting will be prior to the CEC Annual Conference in Baltimore, Maryland in March 2025. All applications for the board positions must be received no later than by October 15, 2024 at 5:00 PM (17:00) EST.?Be sure to check that you have included all the required information in your packet.?The?elections?committee will not accept partial applications.
