Most — if not all — dealerships are already using A.I. to boost profits: Even if they don’t realize it… Recently, I spoke to Leigh Ann Conver, Senior Director, Product Marketing at CDK Global, who explained what harnessing the real power of A.I. actually means. Top lessons learned from Leigh Ann: More dealers are using A.I. than ever. - But satisfaction with A.I. products is down 9% YoY. - Now that dealers better grasp what AI can and can’t do — the “shine” has worn off. - Yet, healthier relationships between dealers and new tech are trending upward. What is A.I. being used for? - Chatbots are the most popular type of A.I. used to boost sales and service performance. - Predictive modeling is starting to make a bigger impact if dealers use the right data. - AI is helping employees take better care of customers by offering solutions based on data. Where is A.I. having the most impact? - Lead management for sales is benefitting the most from A.I. tools. - Service is a close second, with sizable gains in customer retention. - Marketing is a distant third and relies more on brand awareness. The pain points. - 40% of dealers still don’t understand how A.I. works, even though they probably use it. - Advanced A.I. is most helpful for bigger stores/dealership groups. - A.I. can’t replace humans (yet). The future A.I. pipeline. - A.I. will continue to augment dealers’ ability to care for customers and boost performance. - Virtual assistants are getting smarter and will soon be able to answer questions about store performance. - Predictive forecasting is becoming more accurate and better at answering ‘what-if’ questions.
