Central Connecticut State University School of Business recently became the first and only university in New England to join colleges and universities nationally offering an Undergraduate Certificate in Banking. Central's Certificate in Banking Excellence Program will welcome the first group of students in September 2025 to this banking industry supported educational program. The Program features an outstanding curriculum, internships and extracurricular activities designed to prepare students for the range of exciting career opportunities with banks and businesses requiring employees with banking knowledge and skills. Many thanks to those we spoke with in developing our program - with special thanks to Dr. Kent S. Belasco of Marquette Business; Dwight. Garey, Mays Business School - Texas A&M University; and Mike Mauldin of Texas Tech University - Rawls College of Business, who lead banking programs at their respective universities, for their generous advice and counsel as we developed the Central Connecticut State University School of Business Banking Excellence Program. We look forward to preparing students for an exciting, fulfilling and rewarding career in banking and banking related fields!

Last Thursday, we hosted an amazing Guest Speaking Event with Ryan Morrissey, CFP?, CLU?, ChFC?, CMFC?, from Morrissey Wealth Management ! Our members learned about, careers in financial advising, the principals of wealth management, and much more! We would like to thank Ryan for coming out and sharing his knowledge with us!

Last Thursday, members of the Finance Association had the honor of presenting to the CFA Society Hartford in the Local Finals for their CFA Research Challenge A special thanks to their Advisor Fan He, and congratulations to the members!

It has been an absolute honor representing the CCSU School of Business at this year's CFA Society Hartford finalist presentation round. A special thank you to our advisor, Dr. Fan He, our industry mentor, Pat Henehan, CFA?, CFP?, MBA, and my teammates, Josh LaRoche, James Rusi, and Marc Perras.

Central Connecticut State University School of Business is pleased to present the 2025 American Savings Foundation Distinguished Lecture featuring nationally recognized financial industry policy expert Joan Kois Woodward, Travelers Executive Vice President of Public Policy and President of the Travelers Institute. The program will take place at 7pm on Wednesday, February 26th at the Torp Theatre in Davidson Hall on CCSU's campus. The program is free and open to the public. Tonight I had the opportunity to hear from commercial banking professionals, held by the Central Connecticut State University Finance Association within Central Connecticut State University School of Business. I had the pleasure of listening to Eric Bauer and Lindsay Castonguay Hany who are both Senior Vice Presidents at Bank of America through their own respective departments. During the event I was able to learn about business loans, credit lines, and payment processing. Can’t wait for more opportunities down the line!
