For their faculty, staff, and students, The University of Alabama made it their mission to provide a nationally accredited childcare program by partnering with KinderCare Education at Work. The former Northington Elementary school provided the University of Alabama with 15,733 SF space for classrooms and support spaces and a 6,358 SF covered outdoor space for a playground. We are honored to be working with Fountain Heights Farms to expand their offerings through an upgraded urban farm, neighborhood market, and community kitchen. Fountain Heights Farms provides fresh and affordable food options for residents of Fountain Heights and surrounding neighborhoods in Birmingham. This expansion will allow them to produce an additional 25,000 pounds of nutritious, local food and will create economic opportunities for micro-businesses by providing affordable commercial kitchen access.
