We’re excited to partner with Texas Housers [Texas Low Income Housing Information Service] for the Housing Empowerment Series: Gentrification: Cause & Effects The Housing Empowerment Series, a partnership between CCPPI and Texas Housers, addresses critical housing issues and equips communities with knowledge and resources. This event will explore gentrification—a key challenge reshaping neighborhoods, displacing residents, and limiting affordable housing—while fostering dialogue on solutions to protect and empower our communities. CCPPI is proud to support spaces where residents can learn, connect, and engage in meaningful dialogue about their housing rights and needs. Your voice matters in building solutions that center equity and community. Join us in this critical conversation! https://lnkd.in/gxksrPz5

ICYMI: Grand Opening of the Southern Palm Development! CCPPI is proud to highlight the grand opening of the Southern Palm Development, a key milestone in the Southeast Houston Affordable Housing Initiative—a collaboration between CCPPI and the Midtown Redevelopment Authority. This transformative project brings 40 new, highly affordable 3-bedroom homes to the historic Old Spanish Trails-South Union neighborhood, thanks to the partnership of the City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department (HCD), Mayberry Homes, Inc., and the Midtown Redevelopment Authority. Through the Affordable Home Development Program (AHDP), $2 million in funding supported critical infrastructure improvements to make these homes a reality for Houston families. At CCPPI, we celebrate collaborative efforts like these that expand affordable housing opportunities and empower families to achieve homeownership. Together, we are building stronger, more equitable communities in Southeast Houston!

From childhood and throughout our lives, the stories we hear shape our beliefs about what is possible and influence our aspirations. These narratives are not just tales; they are filled with powerful ideas and themes that define our understanding of ourselves and our relationships with others. Stories and narratives influence our sense of agency—whether we feel empowered with others, over others, or not at all. To create meaningful change in violence prevention, we must examine and transform these narratives through a racial justice lens. Explore our resources, tools, and case examples that apply racial justice principles to narrative change and framing. Together, we can reshape the stories that define our communities. https://lnkd.in/e-6VHchE #HealthEquity #RacialJustice #NarrativeChange #Storytelling
