ICYMI: Grand Opening of the Southern Palm Development! CCPPI is proud to highlight the grand opening of the Southern Palm Development, a key milestone in the Southeast Houston Affordable Housing Initiative—a collaboration between CCPPI and the Midtown Redevelopment Authority. This transformative project brings 40 new, highly affordable 3-bedroom homes to the historic Old Spanish Trails-South Union neighborhood, thanks to the partnership of the City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department (HCD), Mayberry Homes, Inc., and the Midtown Redevelopment Authority. Through the Affordable Home Development Program (AHDP), $2 million in funding supported critical infrastructure improvements to make these homes a reality for Houston families. At CCPPI, we celebrate collaborative efforts like these that expand affordable housing opportunities and empower families to achieve homeownership. Together, we are building stronger, more equitable communities in Southeast Houston!

NEW: In partnership with the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, HUD announced today that veteran homelessness has dropped to its lowest level on record since the annual Point-in-Time (PIT) started counting this data in 2009.

These narratives are not just tales; they are filled with powerful ideas and themes that define our understanding of ourselves and our relationships with others. Stories and narratives influence our sense of agency—whether we feel empowered with others, over others, or not at all. To create meaningful change in violence prevention, we must examine and transform these narratives through a racial justice lens. Explore our resources, tools, and case examples that apply racial justice principles to narrative change and framing.
