Powerful morning at the Tower Club! We had the opportunity to hear from Joseph Morris, CEO and Port Everglades Director, J. David Anderton, Assistant Director, and Captain SamStephenson, Senior Harbor Pilot about the $1.3B Navigation Improvements Project (PenIP) led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This transformative project will widen Port Everglades' navigational channels, ensuring we remain competitive in the global market, support thousands of jobs, and reduce supply chain delays that impact everything from food to fuel. Best of all—no local property taxes will be used, as the project is fully funded through port revenue, federal appropriations, and state grants. Exciting times ahead for South Florida’s economy and trade!
