We are excited to announce a new Cross-Border European Program initiative that promises to transform Ilia into a beacon of educational, environmental, and religious tourism. Our recent visit to the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Constantinople, alongside a dedicated delegation from Ilia, consisting of the Mayors of Pyrgos, Kyllini-Andravida & Ancient Olympia, as well as our partners from Southern Italy/Magna Grecia, has set the stage for an ambitious journey towards sustainable development. The initiative has the practical support of the Ilia Deputy Minister of Protection of Citizen Andreas Nikolakopoulos, and the Greek-Italian Chamber of Athens acts as the "leader" of the project. Following fruitful discussions, we are emboldened in our mission to develop Ilia into a year-round attraction. This effort will not only enhance the local circular economy but also foster a deep respect for our heritage, environment & sustainable development, including climate change adaptation & biodiversity protection.
