关于我们
In December, 2015, after a year of planning, the Catholic Community Foundation of San Diego was established to assist our faithful in San Diego and Imperial counties to easily accomplish their charitable giving in a personal, purposeful and meaningful way. The Organizing Committee was composed of sixteen members of our diocese. They researched foundations in other Catholic dioceses and finally established the Catholic Community Foundation of San Diego as an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation to assist Catholics who want their gifts to have a lasting impact on their parishes, schools and charitable organizations that are meaningful to each donor. Since its inception in late 2015, the Catholic Community Foundation of San Diego has acquired more than $25 million in assets and has created endowments to support parish ministries, Catholic education, Catholic support services and vocations. Pass-through donor-advised funds have also been established to meet donor intentions for other nonprofit organizations whose mission and values are not inconsistent with Catholic values. We are very grateful to all members of our Board of Trustees whose dedication and hard work will help the Foundation reach its near-term and long-term objectives of serving our faith-filled Catholic Community in San Diego and Imperial Counties.

The Catholic Community Foundation of San Diego (CCFSD) has announced the departure of its CEO, Manny Rubio, effective at the end of May 2024. Rubio, who has served in this role for the past three years, will be leaving the organization to pursue other professional opportunities, according to Mark Neilson, Board Chair of CCFSD. ? Founded in 2015 with the aim of becoming the recognized leader of Catholic philanthropy in San Diego and Imperial counties, CCFSD has provided a means for individuals and organizations to contribute to the long-term financial stability of various Catholic entities in the region, including parishes, missions, schools, agencies, and nonprofit organizations. CCFSD is one of nearly 100 Catholic community foundations in the nation and serves independently of the local Diocese and with its own board of trustees. ? Following the retirement of the founding executive director, Gary Rectenwald, in 2021, Rubio took on the leadership mantle at CCFSD. Under his guidance, the organization has continued its mission of fostering philanthropy within the Catholic community and throughout the San Diego Region. ? The Board of Directors will now initiate a search for an executive director to lead CCFSD into its next phase of growth and service. Individuals interested in learning more about the transition or the organization's future plans are encouraged to contact Katie Sharra at [email protected]. ? CCFSD expresses gratitude to Manny Rubio for his contributions during his tenure and wishes him success in his future endeavors. ? Contact if questions: Mark C.
