Catholic Charities is grateful for the support (bit.ly/weGIVECatholicEAS) of many donors, volunteers and friends to our Emergency Assistance Services (EAS) programs, which include St. Augustine Hunger Center in Tremont, Bishop William M. Cosgrove in Cleveland, and St. Elizabeth Center in Lorain. EAS programs are at the heart of our Catholic mission and represent the single largest service area at Catholic Charities. Annually, Catholic Charities EAS provides food, shelter, and financial assistance (primarily emergency rent and utility support) to more than 115,000 individuals in communities across the eight-county Diocese of Cleveland. Our EAS sites and programs collaborate with local organizations, public and private agencies, and religious institutions to ensure the basic needs of the most vulnerable in our communities are met. Please consider sharing our Catholic Charities EAS page (bit.ly/weGIVECatholicEAS) for #weGIVECATHOLIC with your network! As donors, volunteers and friends, your support makes a meaningful impact. If you choose to make a gift, the good news is you don’t have to wait until #GivingTuesday to donate via our #weGIVECATHOLIC page. You can make a donation through the link anytime beginning today until Tuesday, December 3, at 11:59 p.m. In the spirit of Matthew 25, Catholic Charities EAS represents our work to respond with dignity in meeting the basic human needs of our neighbors experiencing hunger, homelessness, illness and loneliness. Thank you for your support!

Our own Terrel Valentine spoke with FOX 8 Cleveland yesterday (https://lnkd.in/g_Xpkfbh) as Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland, prepares to deliver 12,000 free #Thanksgiving meals to community members in need. Valentine is the newly promoted program director of St. Augustine Hunger Center in Tremont and Bishop Cosgrove Center downtown, leading programs that once extended a lifeline to her own mother.

Sincere thanks to the Case Western Reserve University School of Law Experiential Education Program for partnering with Fatima Family Center to serve Cleveland's Hough community.
We are back at our second wills brief advice clinic at Fatima Family Center (Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland). A special thanks to Ms. LaJean Ray for working closely with us to set these up! At our clinics, 1L and 3L volunteers meet with clients to set up wills, living wills, transfer on death affidavits, and more.

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland is gearing up to prepare and distribute 12,000 holiday meals through its annual St. Augustine Hunger Center?#Thanksgiving meals campaign. Catholic Charities will provide holiday meals free to the community both on-site in Tremont and through free home delivery across greater Cleveland by volunteers. “One in seven people across Northeast Ohio is food insecure,” said Fredy Robles, chief program officer of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland. “Caring for unmet needs in our communities is a top priority at Catholic Charities, and we embrace the holidays especially as important opportunities to touch the lives of the individuals and families we serve.” Elk + Elk Co. Ltd., Barons Bus Lines, Northern Haserot, and local parishes annually contribute generous food donations and volunteerism to Catholic Charities' Thanksgiving meals campaign, and the Cleveland Browns will do the same in 2024. It is always enriching when my personal and professional worlds collide.?At Greater Cleveland Partnership, my work is focused on building a positive business environment that spurs economic growth and in my role as Chair of the Catholic Charities Board, my goal is to provide support for those who need our help the most. This week, we had the opportunity to share with the Catholic Charities Board the collaborative approach that GCP, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland, Global Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, City of Cleveland - City Hall, Jewish Federation of Cleveland, Cleveland Foundation, and many other organizations have developed to support and welcome migrants and refugees. My GCP colleague Megan Wilson shared that Cleveland is a region built by immigrants.?Today, more than 156,800 immigrants live in Northeast Ohio representing 5.7% of the total population.?While our region’s population declined between 2014 and 2019, its immigrant community grew by 7.3% and the immigrant community is helping to save our population level by driving growth in region. We are a welcoming community and we have the opportunity to make a real impact. Per Heath Rosenberger of Catholic Charities, there are 117 million people who have been displaced from their homes, 43 million have been registered as refugees (often spending 10+ years in refugee camps), and only 3 percent are settled in a country like the United States. In 2024, 1,300 of those refugees have resettled in our country. This is further proof that a shared vision and a collaborative approach result in a greater impact.?I am grateful to Catholic Charities President & CEO Patrick Gareau and my fellow Executive Committee Members Eric German, Anthony Searcy, and Pete Malizia for their leadership in driving real change. #AllIn #GreaterCLE #Collaboration #ChangeMakers
