You like tomato, and I like to-MAH-to … We've only just come across this new "Bridging Dictionary", but it's so good we wanted to bring it to your attention – along with Andrew Heyward's witty essay on this innovation, in which he cites the apt line above from the song "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off" by George and Ira Gershwin. The dictionary was developed by our partners at the MIT Center for Constructive Communication (MIT CCC). After analysing language used by Fox News and MSNBC, the CCC shows how very differently by the Democrat and Republican party camps use words like woke, radical, communist and many others. And they offer linguistic work-rounds as well. At DemocracyNext, we advocate for tough topics to be deliberated about to find a solution, not debated about in ways that only polarise society more. Just reading this dictionary will open your mind to thinking about and finding new ways through all our linguistic minefields. ?? https://lnkd.in/eBWmyZ3Z
