Aelicia “Chocolate” Watson’s story is rooted in resilience and led by hope. As the Founder of Redeemed Women, she walks alongside women in South Dallas with the same strength and compassion that helped her through teen pregnancy, cancer, abuse, and homelessness. ?? As we began our fourth (and final!) quarter of the school year today, we had U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Ricardo Marin on campus to share about opportunities with the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. We have several students who are interested in joining the military, so we’re grateful to have a recruiter visit with them.

Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church provides lunch for CCA students and staff on the last Friday of each month. Recently, Prinicipal Warren Jones, M.Ed had a chance to visit Mount Moriah. Mount Moriah Dallas, we hope you all know that we are proud to partner with you too!

There’s such rich history right here in #SunnySouthDallas and we want our students to know all about it! Our visit to the Juanita J. Craft House and Civil Rights Museum opened their eyes to the life and legacy of Mrs. Craft and inspired them to leave a lasting mark on their community and the world. We couldn’t leave without shouting out Ms. Perez for giving us a beautiful and insightful tour! But don’t just take our word for it. Go and see for yourself!

Cornerstone Crossroads Academy recently awarded The Vanguard Award to the Cool Schools and SDGI teams for our ongoing partnership that includes campus improvements and elevating students towards green careers and building connections to the environment. Our students in the Dallas Doing Good fellowship program have been on the move, keeping up with the good work going on here in South Dallas! They recently interviewed the team over at Ruthie's Fueled by Good at their new location, a permanent cafe on MLK that supports St. Philip's School and Community Center. The Fellows also spent some time developing their skills in a photography ??workshop on campus at CCA.

The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Site Team spent three days on-site at our campus last week, and they completed a six-month review of everything we do. It was a thorough review, but before they left, they shared that they are recommending full accreditation with no conditions! We’re so thankful for this opportunity to submit to an external review process to ensure we are effectively serving our students and their families. We are also excited to use the Site Team’s feedback to grow stronger over the next five years!
