A recent survey showed that 60% of employers have already fired college graduates who were hired this year because they are "unprepared for the workforce, can’t handle the workload, and are unprofessional." They also cited "other factors including lack of professionalism, poor organizational skills, poor communication skills, challenges with accepting feedback, lack of relevant work experience, and poor problem-solving skills." Colleges have begun to recognize and address some of these issues but they will need help since most of the issues are experiential learning-based rather than academic. https://lnkd.in/eDHYRc88

NIL and club sponsorship are not just for the money sports. The UVA pickleball club won their own sponsorship deals. Key elements were that the club had more than 700 members, won a national tournament and covered the 18-31 demographic for the companies. https://lnkd.in/eyeWUutK

The chaotic world of NIL continues as the non-profit status of NIL collectives is challenged, which could have major implications on potential donors. https://lnkd.in/eDJhhhis

What are Universities doing about this enrollment cliff? "The consensus view is that America will hit a peak of around 3.5 million high-school graduates sometime near 2025. After that, the college-going population is expected to shrink across the next five to 10 years by as many as 15 percentage points." - The Chronicle of Higher Education https://lnkd.in/deRNtkqg

"College for all is broken for most." Universities face a perfect storm of issues from a loss of trust, the enrollment cliff and high student attrition. This leads to: - 40% of freshmen will not graduate - 20% of freshmen will be underemployed when they graduate Universities are beginning to respond with more innovative universities re-thinking the whole college experience. https://lnkd.in/d4ucWvbh
