Congratulations to Bess Hagans for being named this year's Woman of Excellence Award winner! After being diagnosed with breast cancer, she started her nonprofit, "Thriving Beyond Breast Cancer", to serve and support Low to Middle Income (LMI) individuals between the ages of 21 and 40 who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Through FREE stipends, survivorship therapy, and ongoing podcasts TBBC provides support, encouragement, and education to the Breast Cancer Community. Its purpose is bringing community together while empowering individuals to thrive beyond their diagnosis. Bess says, “I want my daughter to know who I am. I want her to know my heart and to witness my kindness towards others and to follow in my footsteps. We are here to leave the world in a better place and to be mindful and responsible to the earth and to our own bodies.” Bess is an inspiration to all of us, and we're honored to have awarded her this year's Woman of Excellence Award.
