The California Baptist University Family Business Center exists to be a knowledgeable resource to the numerous family-owned firms in the Inland Region of Southern California. Family-owned businesses have the same challenges as any other business; the addition of the family can make the business much more complex. We have educational events, workshops, and presentations from family businesses and their members. There are tools to help family business owners overcome many of the common problems that are unique to family-owned businesses; succession planning, conflict prevention and management, increased decision-making effectiveness, improved and transparent communication, and proper governance tools to professionalize the family business and prepare it for future success and succession to the next generation. Another fantastic event! Yesterday Katie Rucker and her twin sister Jenny Dinnen from MacKenzie Corporation discussed taking over the business from their dad. They then led us in a dynamic workshop and discussed their latest venture called Next Gen Collaborative which is an advisory firm designed to help other next gen family business members.
