For many local students, schools provide their best chance at getting a nutritious meal. So what happens during the summer break? CBS 8 has teamed up with Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank for the Summer Food Drive! From now until August 20, you can drop off any nonperishable and unopened food item at all 75 local Albertsons, Vons and Pavillions. Just look for the Food Bank’s iconic red donation barrels. Those donated items will go toward feeding kids and families in San Diego who are experiencing nutrition insecurity.
