We’re excited to give a shoutout to Jessica Dehm, the new Region 5 Liaison on the Oregon Traumatic Brain Injury Team! Meet Jessica—a dedicated educator with a passion for helping students thrive! Jessica earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Western Oregon University in 2008, along with an ESOL endorsement. Soon after, she began her career as a substitute teacher in the McMinnville School District while starting a family. In 2009, Jessica welcomed twin boys, Michael and Jacob, who are now 15 and actively involved in various sports and clubs. By 2013, Jessica had completed her master’s in education with a specialization in special education. Since then, she has been making a difference in the Dallas School District as a Special Education teacher and District Program Specialist. In September 2018, Jessica faced a significant challenge after sustaining a concussion while working with K-3 students in the behavior program. After months of intensive therapy, she was diagnosed with Post Concussive Syndrome. Despite ongoing symptoms, she turned this experience into an opportunity to help others by starting the Concussion Management Team for the district and joining the Oregon TBI Educational team four years ago. Currently, Jessica is pursuing a new path in the school psychology program at the University of Oregon’s Portland Campus. We are so pleased that Jessica is stepping into this role on the Oregon TBI Team as the new Region 5 Liaison!
