Typically a Sellers Market is determined as a market with less than six (6) months of inventory.?A Buyers Market on the other hand is determined as a market with MORE than seven (7) months of inventory.* In Sioux Falls, the inventory for February 2022 was 1.4 months.**?Read that again.?This means, inventories will have to increase 600% to even crack the definition for a “Buyers Market”! How long will this continue??We can’t say for sure but considering that February inventories fell AGAIN, home prices may be rising for some time, especially considering that at least one poll has South Dakota as the nation’s #2 destination.
