CBCAC is honored to be an Illinois Humanities grantee, and thrilled to have this spotlight published that highlights our Storytelling in Solidarity program, led by Ada Cheng, Ph.D.. Sarah Tang, our Assistant Director of Programs, and Elizabeth Eisenlohr, our Youth & Volunteer Coordinator, spoke about the origin and mission behind our identity & solidarity program. We hope to continue cultivating safe spaces for our youth to flourish and express themselves in the future! https://lnkd.in/gCRvXBcR

We just finished our round of select vote centers across Chicago today—lots of long lines, but so many determined voters! It was really inspiring to see people waiting patiently and committed to making their voices heard. We spoke with a number of them, and no matter the wait, they were determined to cast their ballots. Just a reminder: as long as you're in line before the polls close, you have the right to stay in line until you vote. Every voice matters, and every vote counts! #DemocracyInAction?#Election2024?#GetOutTheVote?#SAAPRI?#DesiPowerDesiVote?#Democracy

This Saturday we were joined by community leaders, youth, and elected officials to #GetOutTheVote with our Day of Action! NBC5 came to watch as we mobilized voters to cast their ballots and interviewed State Rep Theresa Mah, Ph.D., Alderperson Nicole Lee, and two of our Origin Youth members! See what they have to say on why voter mobilization is so important within Asian American Communities in the story below! https://lnkd.in/gHx7KH7S

Chicago, in two short weeks you’ll be voting for school board members! This election is too important to sit on the side lines. I was excited to partner with Mikva Challenge, Kids First Chicago, The Chicago Public Education Fund, and community partners from The Resurrection Project, Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community (CBCAC), Project Vision, Pilsen Neighbors, and other groups to help our youth put together a #youthled candidate forum! #community #civicleadedship #elections
