My first attempt at combining Cavalry and Rive for interaction. By leveraging the procedural vector capabilities of Cavalry with the visual logic of Rive's state machine. ?? interactive version here: https://lnkd.in/ec2QMqxR (give it a moment to load) Thanks to Antonin Waterkeyn for the quick tutorial on the cable/thread technique and also the rive community for trouble shooting technical issues. #kinetictype #UI #motiondesign #rive #cavalryapp #typography #interactive

Cavalry is the blazingly fast and feature packed new motion design and animation application
关于我们
Cavalry is the new data driven motion design and animation application. Created by animators, for animators — Cavalry makes 2d animation smarter, easier and faster to produce. Design in real-time for advertising, mobile, data visualisation, web, broadcast, ui, generative art, experiential, games and more. Cavalry has been designed with data integration at its heart. Optimise creative dynamically and personalise content at scale without the constraints of uninspiring templates. Combine any creative with data from Google Sheets, CSV files or external APIs and output to multiple formats, languages and versions. Render one movie or thousands, in-app or via the command line.

I've been enjoying learning Cavalry. It's a full-featured animation tool that excels at creating complex animations quickly. Its live playback allows you to iterate without the RAM tax. If you haven't played with it yet, I definitely suggest checking it out. Also, I'm at the stage in life where my son recommends music to me ?? this is apparently from the Minecraft soundtrack.

What if motion wasn’t just a nice detail — but a beautiful way to shape how we experience time in digital products? Another animation from my ongoing Time series — a small prototype for a pocket time machine. :) ? Modeled, animated and rendered in Cinema 4D & Redshift ? UI animation built in Cavalry using PP Supply Mono from Pangram.Pangram ? Final composition in Adobe After Effects ?#MotionDesign #TechDesign #CreativeTech

Cavalry's traction over the last year has been incredible, in no small part down to the amazing community of artists like Elena Kudriavtseva ??
I’m writing a little recap of my 1,5 years using Cavalry app and I need your input! Seeing all the posts on social media and the stats from my Gumroad on the Cavalry app guide sales from the last month, I’m thinking the chasm was crossed and Cavalry is moving from the early adopters stage into early majority, or moved already? I’ve also been receiving more requests for potential Cavalry projects, and emails from the studios adding Cavalry creators to their rosters. The space feels different from what it was a year ago. So, tell me, did you start learning it? If so, why? Are you using it in any commercial projects, can you share? What are the challenges, good things, bad things? If you still haven’t tried it, why not? Are you just not interested/don’t see how it’s applicable for commercial work/overwhelmed with all the new software/don’t know where to start/something else? Or you are just an AE die-hard fan? What are your latest updates/thoughts on Cavalry? In the meantime, here is a little typography setup I did a few months back, it is pretty simple but took a while to get the right map for the Image Sampler and to fine-tune all the settings. And if you want to get the project file of this animation for free, check my post in Instagram with the instructions - https://lnkd.in/gCt9Wrih, or if you feel very generous, you can support me by buying the file here https://lnkd.in/gNc_KhsG :) Love!? Always great to see new work from Elena Kudriavtseva ??
Can you really be a motion designer and not have an intro on your own YT channel? Probably yes, but it felt weird, so I’ve designed and animated this one a few months back, and since the channel for now mostly focused on Cavalry tutorials, it just felt right to do the animation in Cavalry too. I know, no one wants to watch long intros and time is of the essence, so it’s only like 5 seconds long and hopefully gives some identity to the channel. And hopefully, I’ll release some new tutorials soon. And hopefully, you enjoy this intro as much as I do. Do you? Shoutout to Matt White’s script “benKo” that helped me to speed up the animation stage quite a bit. The whole draft/idea/music etc. process might have taken longer than the actual scene setup. Which is something I love about Cavalry - focusing on the idea/creative rather than the tedious animation/keyframing part. (and just like that I’m back to posting on LN after being away for 3 months, yay) #motiondesign #cavalry #cavalryapp #intro #animation

Quick guide on what tools let you "visualize data" Tons of designers shared their recommendations after I asked them about their favorite tools. Quite humbling to realize I've never heard of them before. So I thought it might be helpful to others if I share a summary (with a little help of AI) Here's a simplified breakdown for all 8 tools. Great mini Cavalry tutorial and you don't even need to leave Linkedin. Thanks Jack Vaughan!
My previous Cavalry tutorial took a couple of days. This one - real time ??. Going to mix it up so I keep the rhythm going with tutorials on this fantastic tool. Tristan Jung — teach me ??

In good company here ??. Thanks Cosmonavt Studio
Who controls our tools? Are they built for the people, or for maximizing profits? Social media platforms like Meta and X (formerly Twitter) have deprioritized fact-checking and ethical responsibility, turning their ecosystems into engagement-driven profit machines. As misinformation spreads unchecked, many users are looking for decentralized, ethical alternatives like Mastodon and Pixelfed—platforms designed to foster genuine connections, not endless scrolling. The same question applies for design. For years, Adobe has been the go-to for designers, a powerhouse shaping the creative industry. But as subscriptions rise, innovation stagnates, and AI gimmicks overshadow real usability improvements, it’s time to ask: Are these tools truly serving us? At Cosmonavt, we believe creative tools should empower, not exploit. That’s why we’ve been exploring ethical alternatives—Cavalry for motion graphics, Affinity for design, and Blender for 3D. These tools prioritize usability, affordability, and transparency, offering a fresh perspective on what’s possible. We’re not here to tell you to ditch your workflow, but what if there’s a better way? What if the tools you use aligned with your values? Would you consider making the switch? See our opinion in the article in the comments. #ethicaldesign #designtools #creatorsfirst #futureofdesign #futuretools #cavalry #mestodon #pixelfed #adobe #illustrator #photoshop #aftereffects #blender #meta #x #twitter #profits #maximizingprofits #ethics #subscription #opensource #workflow #tools #motiongraphics #branding #strategy #logodesign #europe #tech #startups
